MECHANISM OF ACTION |
Glucose transport protein produced in fat & muscle cells, known as "Glut4", is responsible for bringing glucose across cell membranes into cells for energy storage Insulin is released in response to glucose & binds to muscle & fat cells, stimulating a series of events in which the cells release "Glut4". The transport protein then makes its way to the cell membrane surface & waits there to transport glucose across the membrane |
