PATENT CLAIMS - Passing a feed aromatic, an olefin, & a polyalkyl aromatic
(1) comprising > 1 Ph & > 2 alkyl groups corresponding to
said olefin to reaction zone
- Alkylating said feed aromatic with olefin & transalkylating
said feed aromatic with (1) in reaction zone in presence of
zeolite-beta to form monoalkyl aromatic (2)
- Inhibiting the formation of diarylalkane corresponding to
said olefin by operating said reaction zone at 100-475C
a pressure sufficient to maintain said feed aromatic in at
least partial liquid phase, a molar ratio of Ph groups per
alkyl group of = 0.75:1 - 25:1 & concn of olefin
[MWo/(6.17+MWa+MWo)],wt-%; wherein MWo = MW of
olefin; MWa = MW of aromatic
- Withdrawing from reaction zone said (2)
