An electrolytic method for coating metal cathode with Ca hydroxyapatite - Prepg electrolytic cell comprising metal cathode & aq electrolyte soln of Ca phosphate monobasic & ammonium salt - Applying 2.5-4 Volt voltage to obtain current d. 10-150 milli amps/square.cm for 0.5-5 min in electrolyte at initial pH 2.8 & 20-37C sufficient to electrodeposit compn (X)a-HPO4.2H2O; X = Ca, ammonium, Group IA & IIA; a = 1 for IIA & 2 for ammonium & IA & X = Ca (95-99%) - Galvanostatically controlling deposition rate & time - Converting to Ca hydroxyapatite within 48 hours by contac ting with animal or body fluid |
